5 Book Inspired Crafts For Christmas

By Kirsty

December is here and we are all frantically looking for that box filled with tree decorations. From paper chains to advent calendars, check out our festive Christmas craft ideas to spruce up your house or classroom with…

1. Make your own Advent Book Tree

Book Bairn Advent CalendarThis idea was inspired by one of our favourite book bloggers, Book Bairn.

What you will need is 24 different books (or you could half it and do a 12-day countdown!), some green wrapping paper, and fairy lights.

Wrap up each book in a pile, best to put the biggest ones on the bottom here, and remember to mark which day the books are for!

Enjoy the excitement of watching little hands open up a new book every day!

2. Create Book Themed Paper Chains

One of the simplest decorations to make, paper chains are a great craft for Christmas!

Take inspiration from Nosy Crow’s craft bundle and use their templates – plus there’s a whole lot more fun in their downloadable craft bundle!

3. Make Your Own Gift Tags

Time to hit up the charity shops and the back of your dusty bookshelf.

Cut out pages from old books and stick them onto a bit of cardboard.  From here you can cut out whatever shape you want for your tag, and write season’s greetings on the plain cardboard side!

4. Create Christmas Trees With A Difference

Folded Book TreesWhile you’re getting your old books out, grab a few more for this Christmas craft idea.

The technique to make these Christmas book trees is a little bit tricky, but with some patience and great folding skills, we’re sure you’ll be fine!

Decorate your house with these brilliant trees and you will be the talk of Christmas!

Follow the instructions over on Sorted With Style’s blog for a foolproof guide!
